Have you considered contacting your local auction house and seeing if there are any vehicle auctions coming up?
You may be surprised on how well a lot of fleet trucks are maintained (well maybe not body but definitely moving components), and they usually let them go for a reasonable price.

Yep I'm scouring them all, unfortunately none of them are the crew cab, just the regular cab.

you don't say where you are located or if you would travel for a truck so I would start with that. I have a friend that is selling his shop truck in the Seattle, WA area: We are selling our shop truck! It's a 2001 Ford F250 Lariat 4x4 7.3L diesel with 98k miles. We have meticulously gone through this entire truck from front to rear using only Ford OEM parts, and serviced at local ford dealerships. I have all service records, and invoices. This truck is ready to go, and in great condition. Asking $17500.00

MN, I'd probably go a state over max, and it's gotta be a 1999-2000, they have the good high pressure oil pump, intercooled from the factory, and have the forged steel connecting rods.

I wish you luck in your quest. Its a tough one. My best friend just got a '97 F350 Crew cab 8' bed. It has a small lift and slightly larger tires so I wouldn't consider it "bro trucked". He sold his extremely nice '06 6.0 for it.

From what I've been reading these early 7.3L powerstrokes are the honey hole of diesels for ford. I see dozens for sale with over 300k on the clock and still going strong (sellers words not mine however).
That's generally a good sign though.

The 7.3's definitely were the best diesel Ford offered in my opinion. They can run for a long time with little issue. A 7.3 crew cab long bed 1 ton is my absolute dream truck.

I once spent time looking for a unicorn such as that. I never ever see them in my area at all, and I have customers asking for them constantly.
